NIOS Admission 2018-19: National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has released the NIOS Online Admission Form for the academic year 2018-19. Candidates who are interested and willing to seek admission in class 10 and 12 can apply through online mode on or before the last date. Candidates seeking admission through Stream-1 in Block I and Block II can appear. NIOS conducts the Public Exam twice in a year i.e. April /May and October/November. NIOS Admission 2018-19

NIOS is going to conduct the online admission for the year 2018-19. NIOS is easy to pass as there is no compulsion of subjects like Maths, Science, English, Hindi, social science & many more subjects.
Now doing 10 & 12 is very easy, all kind of help is provided to get the admission in National Institute of Open School NIOS.

NIOS Application Form

Eligible applicants are required to go to the official website of NIOS i.e.  for the application form. After that, they can through the instructions carefully before starting to apply online. They have to register before to apply online. The application form for NIOS 2019 is available online as well as offline.

Procedure for On-line Admission

From the year 2010-11, NIOS has introduced 100% On-line admission in order to facilitate learners in registering themselves with it. Off-line admission quota has been dispensed with. Under this scheme learners have the options to

  1. register themselves One-line directly
  2. may visit their nearest AI (study centre)/Facilitation Centre and take their help for On-line registration.
  3. may visit their Regional Centre for on line-registration.

In order to facilitate admission, provision of online admission throughout the year 24×7 has been made.

Procedure for On-line Admission directly by learners

Candidates can go to the official website and read the instructions carefully about the below topics:

The learner has to be ready with the scanned copy/soft copy of the below documents which will be required to be uploaded while registering for the Admission:

  • Recent passport size color photograph
  • Signature of the candidate (preferably in Black Ink)
  • Valid identity proof like Aadhaar Card or Ration card or Passport.
  • Valid proof of Date of Birth like Aadhaar Card or Birth Certificate etc. with the date of birth printed on it.
  • A valid proof of Residence like Aadhaar Card with complete address printed on it, valid Passport/ Water Bill/Electricity Bill/Voter ID/Ration Card/Indian Passport/Statement of Operational Bank Account/Appointment Letter from the Employer on Printed Letter Head, if living in rented accommodation – copy of any proof of permanent address along with present Rented Agreement.
  • Class 8 marksheet or Self Certificate (in case of secondary course). Class 10th marksheet (in case of senior secondary course)
  • Social Category/Caste Certificate (in case the learner belongs to SC/ST/OBC social category).
  • Ex-serviceman Certificate (in case he/she is an Ex-serviceman)
  • Disability Certificate (in case he/she is having any kind of disability)
  • Fail marksheet of previous Board, failing which Transfer of Credit (ToC) marks will not be updated in NIOS result.

Mode of Payment:

Applicants are required to pay application fee through Online by using Master, Credit Card, Visa, Debit Card or you can pay the fee through offline mode through Bank Draft of any Nationalised Bank of India only in the name of Secondary, NIOS payable at respective Regional Centre.

 Application Fee:

Male – Rs.1485/- (X) & Rs.1650/- (XII).

Female – Rs.1210/- (X) & Rs.1375/- (XII).

SC/ST & PWD – Rs.990/- (X) & Rs.1075/- (XII)

Transfer of Credit Fee: 150 per subjects (X, XII).

The additional subject fee will be Rs.600/- for both courses.

NIOS 2019 Admit Card

When the candidates are done with their registration process the NIOS admit card 2019 will be released. The candidates can download their admit card before three weeks before the main examination.

Scheme of Exams

The Scheme of Studies for the Secondary and the Senior Secondary Courses is given in Table-1. A learner is required to pass in a minimum of five subjects including one or maximum of two languages for obtaining a Pass Certificate, from Group ‘A’ and other three or four subjects from Group ‘B’. However, a learner is free to take up to two additional subjects and thus can choose a maximum of seven subjects.

Re-admission of Ex-NIOS Learners

The learners of NIOS at Secondary/Senior Secondary level who have completed their validity period of five years of admission, but could not complete the course, are eligible to take Re-admission with NIOS. The credit of subjects passed (maximum of four subjects) in the previous admission will be transferred on submission of the original Marksheet for seeking fresh admission if learners pass these subjects by the through NIOS during the last ten years.

Transfer of Credit

Transfer of credit (TOC) is a type of facility for any student who has failed in class 12 from a recognised board or passed class 12 from a different board then NIOS. Any learner can transfer their maximum 2 subject marks in NIOS, which they have cleared in past board. The marking details should be matched with NIOS norms for TOC.

Cancellation of Admission

Learner’s admission will be cancelled:

  • In case the admission form is incomplete
  • In case of non-receipt of print out of internet received application form within the stipulated time
  • In case the fee paid is short
  • In case the documents which were given by the candidate are not complete
  • If the incorrect or wrong information is given
  • If the required educational qualifications are not fulfilled
  • In case the minimum age criteria are not filled properly
  • If the Secondary examination is not passed from a recognised Board
  • In case the residential proof is not attached

Confirmation of admission

Your admission to a particular course will be confirmed by NIOS by issuing an Identity Card and a confirmation letter giving your admission particulars as per the record available in NIOS computers. Do check the particulars given in the confirmation letter. The Identity Card will be issued only once and no modified Identity Card will be issued on subsequent changes/corrections of admission particulars. Until you complete your study in NIOS, you should retain your Identity Card carefully.
