AISSEE 2019 – All India Sainik School Entrance Examination

AISSEE 2019 is a written Test. It conducts on the first Sunday of January every year. It is held for admission in class VI and class IX in Sainik Schools. Entrance Exam will be conducted in the first week of January 2019, First Sunday of January, except Sainik School Nagrota, for which the exam will be organized in April 2019. Information regarding the exam is given below:

Admission Procedure 

The Entrance Examination will be conducted for admission to class VI & IX. Boys who are 10 to 12 years and 13 to 15 years old respectively on 31st March of the year in which admission is sought are eligible to appear in Entrance Examination. For admission to Class IX, the boy must be studying in Class VIII in a recognized school. Admission will be made on the basis of merit list only in classes VI and IX. The school will make its own arrangements for the manage the Entrance Examination.

All India Sainik School Entrance Exam Pattern

Exam of class VI will be taken in language English, Hindi. The question papers of Class VI will continue to be set in English and all the recognized official languages. However, question papers for class IX will be set in English only and students are required to answer in English.

Class VI Written Examination carry 300 marks and 400 marks for class IX. The merit list for admission to the Sainik School would be prepared on the basis of marks obtained by the candidate. If there is a tie with regard to overall marks, the marks for maths would be considered. In case, there is a tie here also, the marks of English for Class IX and Intelligence Test for class VI will be considered and thereafter the marks of General Science for class 9th and Language for class 6th. If, there is a tie there also the boy younger in age will be selected. Marks obtained in the written exam will determine his position in the final merit list.

 Examination Centres

The AISSEE 2019 exam will be conducted in all the Sainik School in India.


  1. a) 15% of the entire seats are reserved for Scheduled Castes and 7½% seats for Scheduled Tribes.
  2. b) Out of the remaining, 67% of the seats will be reserved for boys belongs to the State in which the Sainik School is situated. Rest of 33% seats will be thrown open to boys from other States and Union Territories in the ratio of their male population. Any unutilized seats in this category will be merged with home State seats.
  3. c) 25% seats are reserved for children of service personnel which include Ex-servicemen.

The AISSEE 2019 question Papers and answer keys of the exam will be released on 7 January 2019. It will be available on the official website.
